The Laboratory of Sensors and Instrumentation is dedicated to the research and development of systems and applied techniques of measurement instrumentation for fluid investigation.

Located in the EN-204 room, the laboratory has an area of 90 m2, which is divided into 2 areas, an office room and an experimental area dedicated to performing controlled experiments. The laboratory has several workstations, instrumentation benches with different equipment, namely: Arbitrary Function Generators, Oscilloscope with integrated Logic Analyzers, Regulated Power Supplies, Multimeter, DSP, and FPGA development system.

  • Sensors Research and Development Office

    Research scientists are responsible for designing, undertaking and analyzing information from controlled laboratory-based investigations, experiments and trials.

  • Experimental Laboratory

    Experimental laboratory activities comprise the design and manufacturing of measurement devices and experimental methodology for fluid characterization, on the other side the development of control systems for various experimental loops to the system level of automation technology.

  • Research & Development

    The main activities are the research and development of new devices for multiphase flow investigation. Researchers design, build and evaluate the electronics to be deployed on the investigation target.

  • Evaluation and Calibration of Developed Instruments

    The research group design and develop high-level applications for data acquisition and data processing. Fluid characterization and systems are evaluated prior experimental deployment.
