NUEM was awarded with “Best Poster” prize at the II EQUIPETRO – Conference on Phase Equilibrium in Petroleum
The master student Luiz Henrique Meneghel Lino, supervised by Prof. Moisés A. Marcelino Neto and Prof. Rigoberto E. M. Morales, was awarded with “Best Poster” prize.
The work entitled “Theoretical and Experimental Characterization of the Dew Point of the Methane-Ethanol System” was developed at NUEM – Multiphase Flow Research Center at UTFPR. The work reported the use of a gas-lift system for chemical injection in production wells with such a system already installed. However, some chemicals such as hydrate inhibitors act in the liquid phase. Consequently, these inhibitors must reach the production line in the liquid phase. Therefore, the phase envelope of the natural gas–hydrate inhibitor mixture must be known to ensure the operation within the liquid-gas region of the phase diagram. The goal of the work was to experimentally determine the dew point curve of the methane–ethanol system.
