On September 4-5, 2023, NUEM hosted Petrobras Engineers and held a workshop marking its foundation’s 15th year. The September 4th hosted a visit from 13 Engineers specialized in artificial lift, fluid flow, and flow assurance from Petrobras. They presented research challenges and opportunities in their domains, underlining NUEM’s significant contribution.
The September 5th was highlighted by a workshop with key figures like Eng. Roberta Alves Mendes and Eng. Wilson Grava CENPES/Petrobras, engineers from Equinor (Peter Derks, Lara Arinelli, Guilherme Hartenbach Couto, Rafael Ramos Araújo), TotalEnergies (Paulo Chiquito, Alexandre Mendes de Santi), and Shell (Eli Gomes). Invited Professors Gherhardt Ribatski (USP São Carlos) and Jader Barbosa Jr (UFSC). The event opened with Prof.Rigoberto Morales (UTFPR), head of NUEM, recapping the center’s journey and showcasing its achievements and future R&D initiatives. The day progressed with lectures and presentations from Petrobras, Equinor, and universities.
Dean of UTFPR, Prof. Marcos Schiefler Filho, Director of Campus Curitiba, Profa. Rossana Finau, and Superintendent Director of FUNTEF-PR, Jorge Luiz de sá Riechi, graced the occasion.
Attendees toured NUEM labs, experiencing firsthand the cutting-edge research and projects undertaken by students.
