New article at Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering

We are proud to announce that NUEM – Multiphase Flow Research Center – UTFPR published a new paper in the Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering (https://www.linkedin.com/groups/7471069/), entitle “Experimental characterization of the dispersed bubbles in the slug of an air–water slug flow in a vertical pipe”. Our article investigates the dynamics of dispersed bubbles within a liquid slug, focusing on their impact on slug flow behavior. The dynamics of dispersed bubbles is intricately connected to both the coalescence of elongated bubbles and the overall stability of the flow. The phenomenological analysis reveals that the agglomeration and size of these dispersed bubbles in the liquid slug significantly influence the shape of the Taylor bubble’s nose. Explore our research for a deeper understanding of this fascinating phenomenon.
